CB&T's Engineering Department
Chattanooga Boiler and Tank Company has full in-house engineering and drafting capabilities. Chattanooga Boiler and Tank's engineers are experienced in designing many types of tanks and pressure vessels to ASME Code, API 650 / 620 / 653, and many other design standards, and are licensed Professional Engineers in many states. We use some of the latest technology in CAD/CAM and design software to provide our customers with a complete set of design documentation and drawings.
Using advanced CAD and NC programming technologies, our engineering staff is able to develop accurate layouts for complex components. Combined with our NC programmable burning table, located in our shop, this allows us to produce precisely cut pieces to ensure proper fit-up and improve the quality of the finished product. Often, not only does the advanced technology of the CB&T's Engineering Department deliver a higher quality product, but it is often at a lower price point than our competitors.
Chattanooga Boiler and Tank has decades of experience in designing Process Tanks, Storage Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Silos, Bins, Hoppers, Stacks, and Ductwork for both fabrication in our shop and erection in the field. The years of experience of our engineering department combined with the advanced technology available to the department enable Chattanooga Boiler and Tank to design vessels and tanks out of a wide variety of materials other than the traditional carbon steel, duplex stainless steel, and stainless steel, including Hastelloy and Inconel. This experience, capability, and breadth of knowledge is invaluable to our customers in the Power, Chemical, Pulp and Paper, and Pharmaceuticals Industry.
The majority of documents and drawings produced by our engineering department are available in an electronic format. We encourage receptive customers to engage in electronic transmittal of all contract related documentation. Some commonly used electronic formats are listed below.
